Date: until March 13, 2010, Central London EC1
Editor's Rating:

Gandhi’s London: A Walk
Since 2007, Gandhi’s London walking tour has been organized each month by London Walks company (www.walks.com) or several times a month. This is walking tour of Mahatma Gandhi’s association and time in London. It is a 2 to 3 Hour walking journey through heart of London with London walks company tour guide Sue Jackson. The tour starts at 2:30 PM on dates listed from Temple Tube Station. It takes visitors back into Mahatma Gandhi’s days in London as a student, civil rights activist and then leader of Indian freedom struggle. Visitors will see and feel the inner London that Gandhi saw, places he lived, studied, explored and walked. The walk starts at Temple Underground Station and takes the visitors through Inner Temple, Strand, Coven Garden and towards Trafalgar Square with stories about London of late 19th and early 20th century that Gandhi experienced as a young student and lawyer.

The walks take place irrespective of weather conditions. Sunshine, rain or snow, the walk is not cancelled unless there are hurricane warnings from the met office. We suggest bringing a poncho or unbrella along in case its wet. If Temple Tube is closed, Embankment and Charing Cross are 10 minutes walk away.

There is also plenty of parking in the area on Saturdays on side streets.
